Tuckshop Convenor
30 hours per week
Term Time, Permanent Part Time
Starting on Monday 22nd January 2024
Kallangur State School P&C Association are looking for a highly organised and motivated person to manage the day-to-day operations of the Tuckshop as Convenor. Kallangur State School is a large suburban school of 900 students.
As Convenor, you will be responsible for tasks such as but not limited to:
- Ordering stock
- Managing menus
- Fulfilling daily student orders
- End of term stocktakes
- Assisting with uniform sales when required
- Work independently as well as part of a small team
- Complete sales using our QKR! App and Eftpos machine
About You
- Be highly organised and able to work to a designated time schedule as well as being flexible if unforeseen circumstances arise.
- Have a high level of communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Experience and patience in engaging with students of various ages and personalities appropriately. Being able to interact with children is a must in this position.
- Basic knowledge of use of an EFTPOS machine and computer skills.
- Knowledge of stock purchasing and receiving
- Experience in food preparation and correct food and hygiene practices
- Compliance with the Code of Conduct

Hours/Award
This position is for 30 hours per week Monday to Friday during school term. The ideal applicant will be able to commence immediately. Wages and conditions are subject to the Parents and Citizens Associations Award – State 2016.
The successful applicant:
- MUST be the holder of a current PAID Blue Card – Working with Children Check prior to commencing the role (NO Card – NO Start applicants without a Blue Card will not be considered)
- Certificates in Food Safety and Hygiene is not a must but would be beneficial.
- Experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
