About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager who is looking for a new challenge within an established company. You will report into our General Manager, Operations and will be responsible for the safety, performance and management of the Mallee Hay site in Ultima, Near Swan Hill.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position which will provide operational leadership to the production shift, ensuring the safety and well being of everyone on site and meeting production targets through the efficient management of people and plant.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Developing a strategic plan for Mallee Hay that addresses both long term asset care and opportunities to grow the level and variety of activities performed on site.
- Ensuring that the activities engaged in on site are always safe, responsible and consistent with the Company’s values.
- Developing and executing the Site Safety Plan which identifies and addresses key risks, and properly uses the safety tools available.
- Proactive reporting of near misses and hazards, rigorous incident investigations and participation in all the safety initiatives of the Pentarch Group.
- Overseeing all activities on site, including intake, administration, production, logistics, fumigation and export compliance.
- Ensuring that our production plan is optimized to maximize profitability whilst meeting the needs of international and domestic customers, and the growers that supply the business.
- Develop and maintain maintenance plans, including advising of the need for sustenance capital in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Significant experience in a similar management or senior operational role with an agricultural or manufacturing setting is essential.
- A qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or Logistics is desirable.
- A demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and to effectively lead and influence team members.
- The ability to prioritise safety and promote a culture of safety amongst employees.
- Personal drive and focus on results and the continuous improvement of process.
- Previous experience in managing a budget and capital planning.
