The Ensham operation consists of a highly productive UG bord & pillar mine and an open cut mine that is now a major rehabilitation project, with current production levels of 4 million tonnes per annum. Ensham has been a valued contributor to the Emerald community since 1993.
How you will contribute:
The business requires ERZ Controllers who can effectively coordinate and manage the statutory obligations, safety performance and production activities for the underground mine. The role reports to the Shift Undermanager.
- Direct, manage and control the production district activities ensuring high safety standards, legislative compliance, productivity and quality.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Ensham Safety & Health Management System, Coal Mining Legislation and site risk management practices & initiatives.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the engineering departments to effectively manage the production & maintenance systems of the mine.
- Contribute to the ongoing management of a reliable short-term mine plan and continually seek to identify areas for improvement.
What we’re looking for:
A person who believes in fostering a positive work culture and has a keen focus in ongoing growth
- Queensland Deputy or (1st or 2nd or 3rd Class) Certificate of Competence or NSW Certificate with Mutual Recognition is essential.
- Experience with underground coal mining operations & equipment.
- Total commitment to the mine safety initiatives & work practices.
- Strong leadership record in providing direction to crew members.
- Knowledge of a variety of mining methods and conditions, current industry technologies and best practice.
