Position Summary

- Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
- Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
- Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in the management of clinically deteriorating patients.
- Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Mental Health Program.
- Support the Eating Disorders outreach services within Monash Health
- Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees and fora
- Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Psychiatry Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients.

- Basic medical undergraduate qualification.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in psychiatry.
- Extensive experience in Psychiatry (minimum 5 years as Consultant Psychiatrist).
- Working with Children’s Certificate.
- A higher research degree (PhD), or equivalent research achievement as demonstrated by published work and research grant success.
- Active participation in Continuous Professional Development and personal development and learning.
- Prior experience in ECT and credentialing is desirable. If not available, must attend Monash Health training as soon as practical after appointment.
