Position Overview
As an Urban Services Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance, construction, and operation of key Council facilities, ensuring our community spaces thrive. From parks and gardens to swimming pools, you'll be at the heart of creating a safe and vibrant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive cleaning, maintenance, and construction across various Council facilities.
- Play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of water and sewerage facilities.
- Dive into the responsibilities of a lifeguard and operator at Council's swimming pools.
- Infuse a positive and customer-focused image into our community spaces.
- Contribute proactively to risk management, ensuring occupational health and safety practices are paramount.

Essential Criteria:
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Minimum education to Year 10 or School Certificate or equivalent.
- Work Health and Safety (WorkCover) General Induction ticket.
- Experience in the operation of small plant and equipment.
- Commitment to work health and safety and equal employment opportunity principles.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of information technology/system security and privacy legislation.
- Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety principles.
Desirable Criteria:
- Class MR Drivers Licence.
- Experience in local government.
- Qualifications to TAFE Certificate Level 2 or equivalent.
- Relevant tickets or demonstrated experience in plant operation.
- Chainsaw Operator Accreditation (Level 1 – cross cutting).
- Possession of a pool lifeguard certificate.
- Fluoride Certification.
