As part of our growth strategy Rare Foods Australia (ASX:RFA) is seeking a motivated Venue and Customer Experience Manager.

This is a full-time position based in our ‘Ocean Pantry’ retail venue in Augusta, WA.

As the successful candidate you will further develop our licensed café to showcase our premium abalone products and Ocean Cellared wines, as well as other rare products from the South-West of WA.

To build upon the early success of the venue you will have demonstrated ability to plan and execute great Customer Experiences that will highlight our industry-leading innovations.

In line with our company’s data-driven approach to continuous improvement, you will be expected to use analytics and innovative thinking to enhance alignment of our offerings with customer expectations.

Who We Are

Rare Foods Australia (RFA) was founded on its innovative approach to sustainably produce highly sought-after wild-caught greenlip abalone off the pristine coast of Western Australia (WA).

Our wild-enhanced fishery has earned the coveted Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification and our harvest from this globally unique fishery carries MSC’s blue tick – an internationally recognised symbol of sustainability.

Based on these foundations, we are now building a sales-led business to supply more premium products from the South-West corner of WA, including Ocean Cellared wines.

To fulfil this goal, we’re seeking another hero who can blend their Customer Experience expertise with our innovations and sustainable practices.

Where We Are Headed 

Today the business produces more than 25% of the world’s wild-caught greenlip abalone and has the capacity to expand both in its core business and into other premium products.

Leveraging off its strengths and innovative spirit, the business is among the first in Australia to have completed trials of Ocean Cellared wine, in collaboration with award-winning wineries from the local Margaret River region.

Having conducted several successful trials, RFA is now planning to scale ocean-cellared products and integrate these exciting products as part of the business’s unique offerings.

Your Role in the Team

Reporting to the Ocean Cellar & Retail General Manager, you will be accountable for the design of methods to showcase the company’s rare food innovations whilst delivering an aligned retail experience through the licenced-based café, our Ocean Pantry.  

To achieve this, you will design the workflows to implement your solution whilst maturing the systems to align other rare foods to support the Customer Experience.  Additionally, you will be accountable to align and promote the businesses Ecommerce platform.

The successful candidate will reside locally in Southwest, WA

Accountabilities
  1. Implement the Risk Management Plan.
  2. Design the best methods to showcase the company’s innovations
  3. Develop the system to sell tiered based abalone product
  4. Develop the system to select and introduce aligned rare food products
  5. Design and staff a licence-based café service to support the methods and showcase the company’s innovations
  6. Develop a retail 12-month budget and report and update each month to the management team

Selection Criteria

In your application, please provide the following information about yourself:

  • Experience in recruiting and managing a team predominantly a casual staffing pool
  • Previous management experience ideally with the food & beverage retail space
  • Financial acumen fitting of an experienced Manager, with a proven experience in establishing and exceeding profitable operations
  • Solutions focused and strong leadership
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Approved Managers Cert & RSA
