Job description

Careers at the St Kilda Football Club represent a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic culture, where we recognise every individual impacts team success. It’s a place where we lift, support, and challenge each other to be greater. And in that pursuit of greatness, we embrace the grit our journey requires.

The timing and potential of this opportunity is unprecedented. Last year was the year of exploration in our AFL program, and the year our AFLW team inspired with their most successful season yet. In 2024 we start in earnest the build towards our second and subsequent premierships.

Within our cultural DNA is the ability to harness the power of collaboration, diversity and effort to impact what matters to our football Club. While on-field performance is the club’s absolute priority, we recognise the important role we play in the community and embrace our responsibility to promote mental fitness through the Danny Frawley Centre, social inclusion via the Healthy Futures Hub and continue our long-standing commitments to First Nations people and gender equality.

We understand who we represent, and the privileged position we hold as custodians of a football club built on more than 150 years of history.

We are seeking a collaborative, process oriented and customer centric Venue Operations Leadto join our Facilities &  Operations Team.

The primary focus of this role is to provide operational assistance and support across the St Kilda Football Club’s venues portfolio, specifically the Healthy Futures Hub (Seaford), RSEA Park and the Danny Frawley Centre (Moorabbin).

About the role

Over the past five years, the St Kilda Football Club (STKFC) has worked closely with Frankston City Council to repurpose its former training and administration base into a community health and wellbeing facility.  Following a $6M investment from Frankston City Council, the Healthy Futures Hub (HFH) opened in July 2023 and comprises the third facility managed by the St Kilda Football Club, in addition to RSEA Park and the Danny Frawley Centre (Moorabbin). As an important asset within the STK venues portfolio, the Healthy Futures Hub provides sub-tenancy to 10 Partners delivering health and wellbeing programs across three key focus areas – Intergenerational, All Abilities and Community Sport.

This role will predominantly be based onsite in Seaford and will work closely with all HFH Partners to assist with Venue Operations, driving strong and positive partnerships across all networks, helping to administrate systems and processes to support integrated service delivery, and supporting the delivery of support services to the Healthy Futures Hub and Frankston City communities.

Day-to-day tasks will vary, including but not limited to managing enquiries from new businesses or potential customers, driving continuous improvement in the delivery of the operations, strengthening various relationships, overseeing venue maintenance, assisting with various reporting requirements and contributing to various levels of facility governance, including participation in meetings of the Facilities Management Committee and Broader Partner Group.

About you & what you need

  • Demonstrated ability in administration and relationship management skills across a broad range of facility and recreational disciplines within a similar environment.
  • Collaborative: A skilled collaborator with expertise in working effectively with diverse community groups, service providers, government and non-government organisations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifies issues for stakeholders and uses these to build mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder’s underlying needs and finds innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
  • Systems/Process Orientated: Ability to diagnose trends, obstacles and opportunities in the internal and external environment; delivering quality outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Resilient: Persists in the face of obstacles and challenges and learns from experiences.
  • Valid Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one.
