The Bundoora Veterinary Hospital has a full time or part time vacancy available for an experienced nurse to join to their talented team and work in emergency / critical care.
About the role and organisation:
The newly appointed Veterinary Nurse will work primarily at the Bundoora Clinic, where the nurses rotate through different departments as hospital nurse, surgery nurse, nurse practitioner, circulating nurse and possibly some GP shifts at their sister clinics.
The Clinic is privately owned by Vet Directors working within the Business, BVC operate 2 general Practice Clinics in Mill Park and St Helena, and a 24hr Extended GP/Emergency Centre at their main location in Bundoora.
- Opportunity to work alongside Medicine specialist (Ultrasound, scope, chemo) and surgery specialist (Ortho & soft tissue).
- Busy, fast paced environment which caters for routine appointments and procedures as well as a huge variety of emergencies & also specialist procedures.
- Rosters include a variety of hours spread across the week, with a mix of daytime and afternoon shifts, as well as the requirement to work rotating weekends.
- High calibre team of Vets, Nurses & Receptionists with varying levels of experience & skills - including those with Zoo/Wildlife experience and Avian/exotic experience.
About the successful candidate:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Experience in clinic (ideally in an emergency environment)
- The ability to work in a fast-past environment with a can-do attitude
- Confident communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work unsupervised but also as part of a close-knit and high-performing team
- Compassionate and resilient in times of stress
- Experience/Interest in Emergency and Critical Care highly regarded
