About the Role
In this role you will lead teams and reporters in the planning, production, edit and distribution of video content as part of Digital News’ objectives to build and engage our audience.
We’re after a creative and experienced news-maker, who can help our teams to create stories, work efficiently and innovate our storytelling through videos on ABC-owned and third-party platforms.
You’ll have an eye for detail and a passion for generating stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.
You will also:
- Provide editorial and technical direction and feedback for content makers in the planning and production of video content
- Manage a broad range of complex projects pertaining to video content development within ABC-wide projects.
- Undertake analysis of content performance to inform content initiatives and planning.
About You
We are seeking a Video Producer/Editor with extensive skills, knowledge, and experience in delivering video content in a News media environment. You will have leadership skills to lead and develop projects, team members and experience in mentoring colleagues.
You will also have:
- Extensive online and offline editing experience in media, including a highly advanced understanding of the technical requirements when delivering video content.
- Considerable experience in digital content production, including video editing and editing of written content, using a content management system.
- Highly advanced editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement under pressure.
