St Patrick’s College, Strathfield is a Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition offering a quality education to over 1,400 boys from Years 5 to 12. It began with an enrolment of 39 boys in 1928 and today offers a quality education for over 1400 boys and young men, ordinarily aged from 10 to 18.

Visual Arts at St Patrick’s College, Strathfield, provides students with the skills and experience to navigate an increasingly multi-sensory world. Students are encouraged to investigate and manage multiple modes of learning in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Parental Leave Contract position commencing on Monday 19 August 2024 and concluding Friday 26 September 2025

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Secondary Visual Arts Teacher to cover a period of Parental Leave. You will be committed to the achievement of excellence as a classroom teacher; a strong collaborator; and, confident in effective pedagogy and classroom management. You will be passionate about engaging all students to deliver the best possible teaching practices and learning experiences.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following essential selection criteria:

Essential Criteria

  • A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
  • Qualified to teach Visual Arts, ideally with experience in Photographic and Digital Media – Stage 4 to Stage 6 with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
  • Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
  • Experience in differentiation of curriculum.
