About Market Development Facility (MDF)
The Market Development Facility (MDF) is a multi-country initiative which promotes sustainable economic development, through higher incomes for women and men, in our partner countries across the Indo-Pacific.
We support partners from business and government to identify and grow commercial opportunities that are profitable, scalable and deliver social and of environmental value.
MDF is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) and co-funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu. It is implemented by Palladium in partnership with Swisscontact.
Role
To support the Communications Team in graphic design and apply MDF branding across a range of products, enhancing its messaging and reach across key audiences.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Communications Director and Communications Team to apply MDF's branding guidelines to communications products and materials.
- Create infographics, GIFs, videos and other digital design products according to need and direction from the Communications Director.
- Provide technical design advice to the team regarding layout, corporate design and identity.
- Provide a quality assurance function regarding all Visual Communications materials and tools, ensuring that they comply with the Facility's brand identity.
- Work closely with the Deputy Communications Director and Communications Officer to ensure timely production of all visual media according to the needs of campaigns and country deliverables.
- Provide consistently engaging and interesting design products that are interesting and creative, using new styles and trends where appropriate and relevant to objectives.
- Support the Communications Team with communications operations, such as organising and filing photos, sharing and uploading videos to shared platforms and organising best practice in design and all visual media.
- Develop and maintain a library of visual assets, including photos, illustrations, icons, and templates, for easy access and use by the communications team.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in graphic design, Visual Communications or media
- Demonstrated experience of working on complex communications projects with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to guide other team members on creative communications in a timely and professional manner
- Experience in planning and creating Visual Communications tools and material for media campaigns
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advanced/professional command of English
- Experience with DFAT as a client and an understanding of market development (MSD) programs will be considered an asset
