Murdoch Student Guild is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the role of Volunteer Coordinator. Based on the South Street campus, we work closely with the students that we represent and support.
The core responsibility of this role is to coordinate G.I.V.E. (Guild Initiated Volunteer Experiences) through a range of events and opportunities organised throughout the year. Community volunteering fosters a students’ development of employability skills for both short and long-term employment outcomes.
This position is part-time, 7.5hrs per week and will be offered on a 1 year fixed term contract initially with a view to permanent employment for the right candidate.

Selection Criteria
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a community development capacity
- Proven experience in community-focussed programme management
- Knowledge of the volunteer sector in Western Australia
- Previous experience in volunteer management
- Significant experience in the planning and execution of events and/or excursions
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report drafting and layout design
- Ability to perform effective multitasking and time management while working with a high degree of autonomy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook)
- Proficiency with social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Proficiency in the use of Wordpress
Desirable
- Experience/knowledge of the tertiary education sector
- Full and current drivers’ licence
