St George Sailing Club is looking for 2 passionate Chef’s to join the Team!
A unique and iconic venue, St George Sailing Club is the idyllic year-round setting. Located on the sandy banks of the Georges River, a stone’s throw from Botany Bay, our function venue offers spectacular views of Sans Souci, exceptional cuisine, and a warmth of hospitality.
The Positions
St George Sailing Club is seeking two highly motivated Chefs (CPDs) to join the team servicing not only our high-volume casual dining offers but also our unique 'over the water' function, event and conference space.
Key Responsibilities
This is a busy and rewarding role, including but not limited to;
· Participate in preparing, cooking and serving main meals, snacks, desserts and other food products in accordance with the menu and on occasion preparing “off-menu” items. Do so in a thorough and efficient manner.
· Ensuring of food safety of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances)
· Receive, supervise and check the quality of food deliveries & equipment
· Clean and maintain the cooking and preparation areas and tools as required, and always after each service period
· Ensuring your station is prepared in accordance to par levels necessary
· Ensuring all food preparation is fresh and meets quality standards
· Ensuring all food preparation is labeled and dated correctly and FIFO is adhered to
· Maintaining correct storage of food
· Monitoring correct temperature of cool rooms and freezers
· Supervising and providing directions for junior chefs and kitchen hands
Ideal Candidates
• Be experienced in a similar high volume casual dining venues, preferably upmarket pubs, hotels or restaurants
• Have the flexibility necessary to work days, nights and weekends
• Above all else, have a passion for great food and great customer service.
