Ward Clerk

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and organised Ward Clerk to join our clients team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the ward by providing administrative support to nursing staff, patients, and visitors. If you are detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors, providing assistance and direction as needed.
• Answer phone calls and inquiries promptly, directing them to the appropriate staff members.
• Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Schedule appointments and procedures for patients.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
• Assist nursing staff with clerical tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and faxing.
• Order and maintain office supplies for the ward.
• Assist in the coordination of meetings, conferences, and events as required.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care transitions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records is an asset.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
