We have an amazing opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join our warehousing facility located in Adelaide as a Warehouse Afternoon Shift Manager
About the role
As a Warehouse Afternoon Shift Manager, you will plan and coordinate day-to-day operations, oversee inventory and staff, ensure maintenance and safety compliance, manage productivity, coordinate deliveries, maintain records, optimize vehicle use, manage employee schedules and training, and handle incident reporting in warehouse operations.
- Effectively plan and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the day/Afternoon Shift
- Oversee the receiving, dispatch, inventory, pick pack
- Preplanning and facilitating regular toolbox meetings with the Afternoon Shift teams
- Works with all staff to ensure company assets are maintained in good repair through preventative maintenance and short-term breakdown repairs
- Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity
- Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials
- Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy
- Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation
- Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds
- Coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment
- Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers
- Develop and improve company processes as required, within the warehouse operations
- Work closely with Warehouse AM manager to ensure vehicle optimization and the effective utilization of the warehouse team
- Create rosters, manage employee time and attendance in line with provided labor budgets
- Conducting management meetings with team members addressing any concerns
- On boarding and training of afternoon warehouse team members, ensuring training material is up to date
- Routing of the next days deliveries to utilize vehicles and subcontractors but also adhere to customers service windows and requirments
- Run and coordinate effective team meetings weekly and toolbox talks daily to ensure company information is relayed and absorbed by all team members
- Performance management of warehouse team members with the direction and support of management
- Manage incident reporting and ensure all incidents that happen in warehouse operations are actioned immediately and all processes are followed
About You
We are looking for a self starter who can lead and shape the Warehouse Team through proper coaching and training and clear communications
Experience required:
- Leadership and management skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with MS Office and general computer acumen
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum 2 years experience in warehouse operations or logistics management
- LF Forklift licence must have, experience in reach forklift
- MR truck or LO desirable but not essential
