About the role:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is efficiently managed, and warehouse staff are coordinated. You will play a vital role in maintaining the flow of products, with the majority of responsibilities involving the use of MS Dynamics Business Central Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Role responsibilities:
- Manage accurate inventory records and oversee stock control procedures, using the ERP system to minimize discrepancies.
- Ensuring the ERP system is kept updated with accurate data and configurations to facilitate warehouse operations.
- Assist warehouse staff in the physical issuing of parts & materials for job orders.
- Conduct inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation, with guidance from the ERP system.
- Lead, train, and supervise the warehouse staff, including forklift operators, pickers, and packers.
- Coordinate daily tasks and guide efficient workflow, using the ERP system for data reference.
- Provide feedback and address personnel issues when necessary.
- Arrange and coordinate all outbound freight in a cost-efficient way to meet agreed delivery dates. Ensuring products are handled, stored, and shipped in a manner that maintains their quality.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies to improve warehouse operations and streamline processes.
- Assist in maintaining an efficient storage layout and labour allocation.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager in assessing new technologies or systems that can enhance efficiency, potentially integrated with the ERP system.
- Collaborate with IT and ERP system administrators when troubleshooting issues or implementing improvements.
- Assist in enforcing safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Implement security measures to safeguard products and equipment.
- Assist in overseeing quality checks and inspections to ensure incoming goods and materials meet specifications.
- Generate basic reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as inventory levels and order fulfillment, DIFOT with the help of the ERP system.
- Share reports and observations with Operations Manager to contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in warehouse management, logistics.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics role.
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to learn and adapt to their use.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Understanding of safety and compliance in a warehouse setting.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects may be required.
- Forklift license
