Tomingley Gold Operations are seeking an experienced WHS Manager to join our team, based residentially in Central West NSW. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team with a focus on providing leadership, training and advice for the safe and efficient production of gold.
In this diverse role, you’ll be influencing the safety culture of our site. You’ll get involved in the hands on, day to day support as well as provide higher level strategic leadership and direction to Managers, Supervisors and the general workforce. We are looking for you to identify opportunities, drive change and have a true impact on health, safety and productivity in our business.
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Continue to embed the Social Psychology of Risk (SPoR) philosophy into our workforce.
- Coach, mentor, assist, challenge and guide site leaders in safety and related issues.
- Stimulate improvements in the safety culture by championing issues and engaging all employees and contractors in dialogue.
- Ensure relevant training needs analyses are maintained for compliance training and support delivery.
- Communicate and facilitate the implementation of safety best practices.
- Recommend strategic and tactical safety improvements.
- Personally lead investigations for all high-level incidents.
- Monitor business specific safety legislation and regulatory requirements to ensure it is incorporated into corporate and site systems and communicated to all site personnel.
- Manage industrial hygiene, employee health, return to work and rehabilitation.
- In partnership with senior leaders, liaise with relevant government and industry bodies
- Develop, conduct, monitor and report on appropriate audit programs to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Liaise with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies in support of site based WHS issues as appropriate.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Along with high level communication skills, both verbal and written, you will utilise a broad professional network to drive results and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Additionally, you have:
- Extensive experience in mining or other heavy industries - Senior WHS roles.
- Leadership of Health & Safety personnel (management skills preferred).
- Degree level education in Health & Safety or a related field (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding and experience interpreting Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
- Ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
- Experience and understanding of budgeting

Our current operation runs an underground mine, and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold bullion on-site.
