An amazing part-time temporary to permanent opportunity has become available for a highly dynamic and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Advisor.
Our client is a leading distributor and reconditioner of bearings for the transport industry where they are now seeking to hire a highly passionate WHS Advisor.
Not only will you be instrumental in ensuring their two sites based in Victoria are meeting legislative requirements but you will take pride in being a hands on operator who will help drive a 'safety first' and 'awareness of employee wellbeing' culture across the business.
The Role
This is a part-time safety opportunity where you will be required to be on-site for 3 days per week but our client is flexibile on days and start / finish times.
Your key responsibility is to coordinate the development, identification, implementation, review and monitoring of their Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems and to ensure processes and procedures are adhered to across both sites.
In addition your tasks will include:
- Provide support and guidance to Employees, Supervisors and Managers on safety related matters
- Carry out regular internal audits and risk assessment reviews to ensure compliance
- Idenifty safety driven business improvement projects
- Carry out internal workplace incident investigations including action recommendations
- Oversee the WHS system's maintenance, updates, monitoring and reviews
- Run safety training and attend safety forums and toolbox meetings as required
- Manage safety documentation and administrative tasks
The Successful Candidate
Not only will the successful applicant be an experienced and qualified safety professional, we are also seeking a person who will walk the floor and talk to people, collaborate on projects and take a dynamic and proactive approach to their work.
In addition we require:
- Safety Experience - preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Qualification - Workplace Health and Safety
- Outstanding communication and written skills
- Computer literacy - proficient in using MS Office Suite Products and WHS Programs
- Working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Code of Practices, Acts and Industry Standards
- Proven expertise in managing and carrying out risk assessments, incident investigations, internal reviews and training
- Exceptional time management and organisation skills
- Providing reporting, statistics, presentations and best practice initiatives to key internal stakeholders
- Available to work part-time hours up to 3 days per week (there is no opportunity at this stage for full-time hours)
- Must be able to work on-site for this safety appointment
