We arecurrently looking for a skilled Wood Machinist to join our team on full-timebasis.
Role: Full time
Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 per annum (depending on experience andskills)
Location: Milperra, NSW
Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints andspecification to understand the required dimensions, shapes, and finishes ofthe wood products.
· Select appropriate wood material based on requirements
· Operate various machinery such as saws, planers,routers and drilling machines to cut & shape the wood.
· Fit and sand wood pieces together according to designspecifications.
· Inspect designs and finished products forcompliance of specifications
· Prepare grinders, create cutters, and sharpenequipment on regular basis to maintain precision and accuracy in machining.
· Apply varnish, solvers and paints on surfaces on thefinished products as required
· Conduct thorough quality checks on machined componentstoensure they meet established standards for accuracy, dimensions and finish.
· Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
· Adhering to safety protocols when operating machinery
· Communicateeffectively with supervisors and other team members to relay progress andaddress any concerns.
· Learn andimplement new techniques or technologies in wood machining.
Requirements:
· Certificate III in Wood Machining or relatedqualification. Substantial work experience would substitute the qualification requirements
· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
· Demonstrates an understanding of various woodproperties.
· Has knowledge and hands-on experience with various machinerytools.
· Capable of reading and interpreting technical listsand work orders
Skills & Competencies:
· Ability to maintain project timelines and ensure timelycompletion of tasks
· Strong attention to detail.
· Physical stamina and dexterity for working with heavymaterials and tools.
· Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
· Ability to work independently.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Australian Citizens/Permanent Residents preferred.
