About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. This role is suited for those who thrive on practical tasks as well as strategic planning. If you enjoy actively engaging in operational duties while also contributing to overarching safety initiatives, this role is perfect for you.
As the WHS Manager, you'll report directly to the General Manager of People, Safety, and Sustainability, and lead the WHS function across our operations. You'll oversee safety at our 15 orchards, processing plant, and Melbourne office, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safety culture among employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing our company's WHS strategy collaboratively.
- Leading the creation and execution of WHS Improvement Plans.
- Continually improve and enhance our WHS management systems.
- Overseeing WHS audits and reporting, with a focus on contractor management.
- Cultivating a strong WHS culture and leadership capabilities.
- Building trusting relationships with stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
- Ensuring the achievement of safety KPIs and coordinating training programs.
- Monitoring and reporting WHS metrics, initiating corrective actions.
- Tracking high-risk activities and addressing hazards promptly.
- Managing Safety Operating Procedures, toolbox talks, training programs, and WHS policies.
- Engaging in projects to improve safety systems and culture.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience in a WHS leadership role within an operational environment.
- Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to manage change and lead WHS improvement projects.
- Significant experience with the design and implementation of WHS management systems and risk management frameworks.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Highly proficient in written communication and report writing.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
