Due to continuous growth, we are looking for an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to join our team.THE ROLE:The primary function of the Work Health & Safety Officer is the ongoing development of the Group’s integrated, risk-based WH&S Management System and the ongoing provision of professional level support, facilitation and advice to the wider Direct Group community.Empower managers to take ownership of safety outcomes by providing expert safety technical advice and support to managers and employees across the Direct Group business.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Build and maintain a trusted partnership and coaching relationship with leaders to drive the execution of agreed safety initiatives and strategies.Provides expert and relevant safety advice and support to managers and employees to embed safety initiatives.Provide ongoing coaching to supervisors and managers regarding Safety leadership, culture and upholding appropriate Safety standards in the workplace.Provide insight and analysis on safety data and metrics.Monitor, review and drive the implementation of the Direct Group management systems.Support and coach to improve safety risk awareness and implementation of reduction improvement programs in the business.Support line management to conduct quality incident investigations by monitoring adherence to policies and procedures.Ensure incidents are appropriately escalates and reported within the Direct Group and with the relevant external party.Workers compensation and Return to WorkParticipate and contribute to working parties and committees as required.What you’ll bring to the role:OH&S QualificationExperience in safety advisory in a large organisation with a Distribution Centre and Office environment.Strong knowledge of relevant Safety legislation, policies and processes, the ability to execute and deliver on agreed activities.Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in a simple way.Proven track record of investigating, analysing and applying sound judgement to provide advice on solutions.Experience prioritising requests and incidents and escalating when required.Proven track record of delivering on safety initiatives that have real impact.3-5 years experience in similar roleIn return we offer:GREAT product discounts across the Group On-site café On-site parkingSocial clubDiscount Gym MembershipFree membership to SONDER health and wellbeing for you and your familySupportive leadership and ongoing coachingFantastic culture within a thriving, collaborative organisation who values our peopleWork rights: Please note to apply for this role you must already have the right to lawfully work and live in Australia.
