Position Summary
Are you an organised and effective workforce planner/coordinator who can think on your feet and loves to be challenged? As a Workforce Coordinator, you will join our busy Sydney Airport operations team of over 300 to ensure the efficient and effective allocation of workforce resources. Your primary focus will be to monitor and assess work drivers such as flight arrival and departure times and accurately make adjustments to the workforce allocations to ensure safe and adequate coverage of shifts.
You will focus on both the day of operations and the planned workforce allocations. This is an exciting position suited to a candidate who is well organised, dedicated, with strong administrative and problem solving skills.
Key responsibilities as a Workforce Coordinator:
- Review rosters and forward plan up to 72 hours in advance to ensure effective and efficient coverage including reviewing key work drivers such as schedules, load factors, baggage and freight loads
- Coordination and ongoing monitoring of daily resources, plan and allocate tasks to ensure effective coverage of off schedule flights, bay changes and disruption events
- Work with Duty Managers, Supervisors and other key staff to ensure the team is well informed of plans and operational activity
- Create and update allocation sheet to reflect initial and updated plans and then communicate this to the workforce
- Create aircraft towing plans and publish
- Ad-hoc coverage of resource shortages on the day or as part of forward planning via re-allocation of available on shift resources, or through call-ins or additional hours allocation (with approved parameters)
- Ensure fatigue principles, work patterns, qualifications/experience, and leave are suitably managed
- Review timesheets for accuracy
- Prepare reports such as manpower usage, variances to planned rosters, challenges and coverage issues
- Continuously proactively identify most efficient way to safely cover the work and meet our service objectives
Desirable Experience
- Aviation ground handling experience, ideally with workforce planning or allocation knowledge
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong administrative and computer software and system usage including email, Word and Excel
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with peers
- Strong and effective planning time management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation
