Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred horse racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of racing in Victoria. This includes providing education and development solutions to ensure the attraction of people to work in racing. Our key programs are currently the Apprentice Jockey Training Program; Stable Start and Trackwork Rider Programs.
We are looking for Workforce Development Coordinator to join our team.
About the Opportunity:
This is a part-time opportunity 22.8 hours per week which can be worked flexibly across the week, in a hybrid working arrangement. The role of the Workforce Development Coordinator is to support the team to deliver and coordinate education, training and promote career pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination of industry training programs, this may include maintaining the training calendar, booking training facilities and services, printing and production of training resources, and distribution of training and education promotional materials.
- Connect and engage with the broader racing community to provide advice to training applicants and connect trainees with employers.
- Coordinate the application and selection of participants for education programs, monitoring incoming applications and responding to emails.
- Work with RTOs to facilitate enrolment of applicants into the courses being delivered by RV and provision of completed assessments for resulting.
- Monitoring of student completions and ensuring documentation is electronically filed.
- Identify and monitor government employer support initiatives relevant to the Racing Industry and support employers to access traineeships, subsidies, and support initiatives.
- Attend training courses in a supporting role to our Workforce Educators.
About You:
You will thrive in a small team, in an administratively focussed role, with the possibility of assisting with training delivery, if this interests you. Attention to detail is key, as is an understanding of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) landscape Some of the skills and experience you will have include:
- Awareness and/or understanding of the RTO environment including VET training and traineeships;
- Interest and/or understanding of the Thoroughbred Racing industry;
- Experience in education and/or informal learning environments;
- Proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders;
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise according to demands;
- Competence in using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
The following are not essential but would be highly advantageous:
- A qualification in Training and Assessing or willingness to obtain.
- Horse handling experience to support delivery of training courses.
