Flagstaff has a great opportunity for a person who has completed WHS qualifications and is looking to further their WHS career and gain effective practical experience in a diverse and safety focused business, you will assist with the administration and application of the Group's Work Health and Safety frameworks, policies, procedures, and practices.
This is a hands-on position where you will actively support initiatives that drive compliance with legislative and regulatory requirement, promote industry best practices and standards with a focus on preventing workplace injuries and ensure that any reported injury is handled consistent with relevant legislation, Group policy and / procedures.
The Opportunity
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer
As the WHS Officer you will have the opportunity to make a difference to lives of people with a Disability whilst ensuring the Health & Safety of workers and supporting the effective recovery of injures workers.
Your key objectives will be:
- Prepare & conduct Risk Assessments.
- Assist and develop Safe Operating Procedures.
- Actively deliver divisional safety training.
- Support workplace and non-work-related injuries.
- Develop and implement Return to Work Plans.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Eligible to immediately work in Australia without sponsorship.
- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety.
- Successfully completed Return to Work Coordination training within the last 12 months.
- Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, Workers Compensation legislation, Return to work (RTW) requirements and Codes of Practice and Standards relevant to the role.
- Experience developing and implementing RTW plans.
- Experience in lodging Workers Compensation claims.
- Good organization and time management skills.
