We’re looking for Works Monitoring Officers to start mid May, based out of our Melbourne, CBD office.About the RoleWe’re excited to have been awarded the Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract – South Central Region.Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.Our mission is to deliver safer and more reliable journeys for Victorian road users, keep communities better connected, and create a more sustainable road network. How you'll contribute:Reporting to the Planning & Optimisation (P&O) Manager, the
Works Monitoring Officer supports safe, compliant and efficient completion of all VRMC Works.Specifically, the
Works Monitoring Officer is accountable for:Tracking Works Delivery in real-time to minimise disruption / access issues for road users and communities and enable crews to deliver works safely and efficientlyCoordinating responses to network incidents and emergencies, updating the DTP Traffic Management Centre in relation to traffic management measures and / or disruptionsLiaising with Inspectors, Supervisors and the Pre-Works team to prioritise completion of urgent hazard rectification works identified during a shiftApplying jeopardy management principles and escalation protocols to maintain compliance with Section 750 PB requirements and contract KPIs and internal performance metricsProducing Shift Completion reports, highlighting any negative variances to the Shift PlanBased in our Network Intelligence & Operations Centre (NIOC), full-time, part-time and flexible working options will be considered for this role.
About you:You’ll have at least three years’ experience monitoring, coordinating or delivering high volume works in a road maintenance or civil construction or logistics / supply chain environment.A committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll demonstrate:Sound knowledge of, (and / or willingness) to learn work methodologies for road maintenance operations, including safety, traffic management, access, permit and licensing requirements,Exceptional time-management skills and attention to detail in document control, data management and general administration tasksExperience using works management information systems, GIS tools and Office 365 applicationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, evidenced by productive working relationships with customers, colleagues and delivery partnersA relentless focus on workforce, road user and community safety in your approach to all tasksFormal qualifications (Cert III or higher) in civil construction, logistics or customer service are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.Why you should join the VRMC team:
