Workshop Manager

Join a global supplier of industrial equipment with a strong pipeline of work. 5 years minimum manufacturing/production planning experience required.

Our client is a global supplier of industrial equipment offering their clients customised designs through to manufactured solutions within the underground mining industry.
Due to a strong increase in product orders they are now requiring a Workshop Manager with an expertise in Mechanical, as well as a proven background in a fast paced manufacturing environment of underground mining equipment.
Currently relocating to their workshop on the outskirts of Newcastle, this role will require a highly motivated professional who can lead, priorities and plan this role to success.
Reporting into the General Manager, your key challenges will be to maintain orderly and timely planning of labour and materials for the production of new equipment, along with repairs and overhauls.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate and plan manufacturing tasks and schedules according to customer orders
• Develop and review manufacturing plans and workflows
• Monitor the execution of manufacturing plans and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion
• Provide leadership within the workshop and maintenance team
• Investigate production problems, analyze root causes and provide solutions.
• Communicate production status to mangers and customers on regular basis
• Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations
• Plan equipment, material and manpower requirements to execute job orders
• Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses
• Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
• Analyse delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines
• Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences

The successful candidate must have:

• Extensive experience working in a manufacturing environment of mining equipment
• Solid experience in production planning
• An enthusiastic personality with a strong work ethic
• High level IT skills
• Desirable - M1 ERP manufacturing software experience or SAP
