About the role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Workshop Production Scheduler to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC), located in Darra, Brisbane. The role involves developing, coordinating, and monitoring comprehensive production schedules for our remanufacturing facility. Collaborating closely with all the CRC team, the central planning team and our mining operations, the aim is to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective scheduling for mining asset component remanufacturing. This includes creating production schedules and work orders for remanufacturing. Additionally, the position involves managing component inventory for unplanned component supply with a focus on minimising disruptions to our mining operations.

Additionally, you will:

• Collaborate with the Central Planning Team to develop a mid to long-term forecast for component demand.

• Generate a short to mid-term production schedule, incorporating labor allocation, completed remanufactured parts and consumable part availability for the CRC.

• Monitor the production schedule to ensure compliance.

• Generate and manage required work orders in accordance with the short to mid-term plan.

• Effectively manage and maintain component inventory in Brisbane and our regional warehouses.

• Assist the Logistics and Fabrication Supervisor with freight and logistics operations.

• Support the CRC in developing long-term forecasts for required parts supply.

• Develop and monitor workshop load and capacity planning.

• Coordinate warranty claims efficiently with the CRC engineers.

• Support the External Repair Specialist

• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment guidelines, systems, and procedures.

About you

You possess strong organisational skills that are crucial to effectively coordinate and schedule tasks for optimal workflow. You will also have outstanding attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in planning and preventing oversights that could impact operations. Additionally, your effective communication skills are vital for collaborating with maintenance supervisors, facilitating smooth interactions within the team, and liaising with external stakeholders

Additionally, you have:

• Prior experience in planning and scheduling

• Proficiency in using CMMS, especially with JDE experience, is highly desired.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• A team player with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment

• A background in component repair is beneficial.
