In this role you willBe responsible for the transport logistics and distribution of our customer’s products. The successful applicant will manage and oversee the safe day-to-day delivery of carton and ambient freight, locally, and interstate. You will oversee a team comprising 44 drivers (van and truck) and 8 operations team members from 10am to 6pm each day.
- Drive a Safety First workplace culture
- Ensure all elements of fleet operation are met efficiently with maximum optimisation of vehicles, drivers and equipment
- Work with the planning team and allocate runs to company drivers and subcontractors
- Maintain efficiency and compliance to all statutory requirements including fatigue management.
- Ensure outstanding customer service standards are achieved and satisfactorily manage all customer service related inquiries.
- Meet all safety and operational targets in line with delivery schedules and business plans.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Continuous commitment to process improvement in liaison with key stakeholders.
- Prepare and report accurate DIFOT data.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in the Transport Industry in a supervisory role.
- Ability to manage / direct drivers and loaders during the shift.
- Experience with Route Allocation and an understanding of scheduling multi drop deliveries.
- Sound knowledge of South East Queensland roads and infrastructure.
- Ability to think quickly and problem solve in the moment.
- Demonstrated experience leading workplace safety and compliance.
- Capable of working through complex challenges in a high pressure environment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Proven experience in consistently delivering results and a continuous commitment to improvement.
- Medium to high level skills in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience implementing policies and procedures aligned with Heavy Vehicle Legislation.
