St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1450 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.
Members of the Year 7 teaching team teach a combination of the core subjects of English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Mathematics. Year 7 Art, Physical Education, Music, Religious Studies, Digital Technologies and Languages are taught by specialist teachers.
Due to planned leave and staff relocation, we are seeking a Year 7 Teacher specialising in English and HASS. This role involves teaching Year 7 English and HASS and having primary responsibility for the pastoral care of a Year 7 class. This is a fulltime, fixed term role for Semester 2 2024, subject to notice requirements.
Experience required for this role includes:
- Experience in teaching English and/or HASS for Years 7 and 8.
- Experience in writing assessment tasks for Year 7 English and HASS.
- Understanding and awareness of the Western Australian Curriculum for Year 7 English and HASS.
- Experience in using Learning Management Systems eg SEQTA.
- Experience in the use of technology and the ability to demonstrate appropriate pedagogy for a 1 to 1 environment.
- Experience in a pastoral care role.
An understanding of educational issues in an all-girls' environment, and the ability to teach up to Year 10, will be well regarded.
