Job description

  • Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, Location Negotiable Within Region
  • Salary: $82,398 - $104,154 p.a (pro rata) - Temporary Part Time (up to 30 June 2024) - RN/M2C
  • Multiple Positions Available
Overview
The Clinical Nurse/Midwife (WwW) supports nursing and/or midwifery services in a variety of health service settings. The Clinical Nurse/Midwife (WwW) at this level has developed from a competent to proficient practitioner through practice consolidation by experience and/or further study.
The 'Working with Wisdom' (WwW) mentoring and coaching model will take advantage of the knowledge and skills that experienced nurses and midwives developed during their career. The model enables senior nurses and midwives to support, mentor and educate the incoming generation of graduates, allowing the accumulated knowledge and skills of the experienced Nurse/Midwife to be transferred to the early career nurses and midwives.
The WwW Nurse/Midwife Facilitator will provide “at elbow” point of care support to nursing/midwifery students, new staff and staff with less experience, with face to face, on ground and/or virtual support, including development of an agreed plan for communication and supervision to promote reflective practice and problem solving, and evidence-based capability development through experiential learning.
The Clinical Nurse/Midwife (WwW) accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
The Clinical Nurse/Midwife - WwW (Registered Nurse/Midwife Level 2) role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios including precepting, mentoring and coaching nursing/midwifery students, new staff and staff with less experience. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.
In the course of fulfilling the role of WwW Nurse/Midwife Facilitator the incumbent provides specific support to the Nurse Educator(s), Nurse/Midwifery Unit Managers and Nurse/Midwife Manager(s) in the provision of education services through the management of a portfolio in clinical education.
Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
