- If you are currently at University or Tafe, our sessions times are very flexible and work great with a university timetable. We work with you to find the best suitable time for yourself and out participants.
About the role
Aequalis provides a rewarding experience to mentor and support people with a disability. Aequalis prides itself on putting a focus on relationships so when workers come on board, we want to get to know your interests and skills so that we can match up your personality with appropriate participants that you will enjoy supporting. We believe it’s not as simple as assigning a participant to a worker, but instead finding a suitable match between a participant and support worker who will enjoy spending time together.
Working with Aequalis will allow you to help people with disabilities achieve goals, work toward independent living and engage pro-socially within their community. As a support worker you will engage with participants through the following support services:
- Assistance to Social and Community Participation: providing meaningful support to help enable participants to engage in community, social and/or recreational activities.
- In-Home Support: Family based support: domestic duties, establishing/keeping to routines; cooking, cleaning, and financial skills and budgeting.
- Transport Services: Transporting participants to complete daily activities, attend appointments, go to and from school/work and participate in community activities.
- Development of Daily Living and Life Skills: Helping participants become more independent with daily skills, including: public transport awareness, financial skills, budgeting, pursuing studies and/or work, drivers license achievements, and other tasks.

Skills and experience
Applicants will need to have or be willing to apply for (we can still progress with your employment whilst you are obtaining the below) :
- A current employee Working With Children Check (WWCC),
- A current National Police Check (NPC),
- A current drivers license, (P1+P2 accepted) and access to a clean, road worthy vehicle for transporting participants/young people
- A current First Aid Certificate
- An NDIS screening check
- Proof of double Vaccination
