Arcadia College is dedicated to engaging young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling or other educational programs. The Youth Worker position focuses on improving outcomes for vulnerable youth and families through integrated service delivery. The primary responsibilities include monitoring student attendance and engagement, facilitating evidence-based wellbeing programs, and managing Student Engagement Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case management of diverse youth, including assessment, planning, implementation, and review of attendance and engagement.
- Managing attendance data and rewards across years 7-12.
- Leading the development, monitoring, and review of Attendance Support Plans and Re-engagement plans.
- Facilitating evidence-based wellbeing programs with small groups of students.
- Line managing the Student Engagement Officer team.
- Coordinating service delivery with internal and external stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Cultural competence in working with diverse youth backgrounds.
- Utilisation of a Trauma-Informed Care approach.
- Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements in education.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with at-risk youth.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation regarding student attendance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Clear criminal history check.
Miscellaneous:
- Participation in professional development as required.
- Completion of tasks contributing to organisational success.
- This is a Permanent Part Time, term time position.
- The role will be required to work for one week of each school holiday period only.
- 5 weeks Annual Leave entitlement per year.

Person Requirements:
Qualifications/Memberships:
- Relevant qualifications, Desirable qualifications include Diploma or Bachelor Degree.
- Current Working with Children Blue Card.
- Qld Driver's Licence.

- Previous experience in a similar role within the Youth NFP and/or education sector.
