Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) is a leading employer of apprentices and trainees. ACA is looking for the next generation of Engineering fabricators/welders/boilermakers and sheet metal workers. We currently have a special role for new 1st Year through to 2nd year Fabrication Apprentice wishing to either start or broaden their experience with a fast-growing successful engineering company in Padstow.

The Role:
As an Fabrication Apprentice, you will be working for one of the most successful engineering companies in Australia working with all metals, producing everything from structural steels for rail and infrastructure projects to all types of engineering components and parts for mining, defence and manufacturing industries. Working with cutting edge technologies
Specifically in this apprenticeship, you will learn to program and operate a robotic welder ,as well as learning other fabrication processes and tools. You will gain the broadest practical experience working both in workshop and on site with our fabrication tradespeople, whilst attending TAFE studying to complete a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication.
Duties May Include:
General metal fabrication in stainless steel, aluminium, copper
- Learn to program & operate a robotic welder
- Make custom/bespoke items, engineering components, machinery parts
- Using, grinders, polishes, benders, guillotines, brake presses, punches
- Learn all aspects of welding including .
- Produce high-end quality items – Must be millimetre perfect
- Assist with repairs across a range of metal products
- Repairs, modifications, and fabrications and finishing
- General hand tool work such as grinding, cutting, polishing, drilling, etc
Potential Candidates
- Must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents
- Drivers licence strongly preferred but not essential
- Minimum Year 10 education with knowledge of basic programming
- An aptitude for technology and or robotics
- A passion & curiosity for making things and figuring out how they work
- Commitment to completing a 4-year trade apprenticeship
- Any exposure to metals, fabrication or engineering tinkering is highly valued
- Previous Tig welding experience or training is strongly preferred
