$64,235 - $77,686 per annum pro rata + 11% super

This position is primarily based at the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre but will be required to occasionally attend the Walyalup Civic Centre.

The Aboriginal Education Officer promotes and supports the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre (WACC) as a welcoming and inviting space showcasing initiatives and concepts that promote Aboriginal culture, art and history throughout the year.
Key responsibilities include:- Increase exposure of Aboriginal arts and culture to the community through the delivery of engaging activities and programs and interactive displays.
- Activate the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre (WACC), including developing innovative programs and activities for community and increase the visitor experience.
- Support the delivery of the actions within the Walyalup Reconciliation Action Plan.
- Promote the WACC as a venue for hire for cultural purposes.
- Facilitate opportunities which build the local community knowledge of Aboriginal culture and our shared history.
Aboriginality is considered essential for this position under section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act.
To be successful in this role you will possess strong communication and people management skills and be an effective problem solver.
You will possess excellent time management and organisational skills, working in an autonomous environment.
