About the Role: As an Academic Support Officer, you will work closely with the Manager of Academic Services to provide executive and administrative support to Department Chairs and academic staff. Your role will involve facilitating compliance with university processes, streamlining operations, and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness within the academic department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive and administrative support to Department Chairs, including diary management, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, and facilitate follow-up actions for committees and working groups.
- Assist in the preparation and workflow of documents requiring approval, including contracts, HR administration, and payment claims.
- Offer comprehensive advice and support to managers, academics, and staff on HR processes and compliance.
- Coordinate the resolution of complaints and appeals and assist with workload data administration.
- Manage sessional staff administration, including engagement, onboarding, and timesheet approvals.
- Maintain administrative tracking systems and assist with policy investigations and special projects.
- Proven experience in providing detailed administrative support to senior management.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in office software applications, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Previous financial experience is advantageous.
