AquariusResort is a 200-bed hostel and motel within the heart of Byron Bay. Itcomprises accommodation and a range of hospitality facilities.
Thisopportunity would suit a self-driven, motivated individual who is eager to takethe reins within an exciting, vibrant, fast-paced business, and is comfortable recruitingand leading a team of people, organizing and delegating tasks, and providingextensive on the job training, and growing our market share within the nationaland international arena. This job is consists of a full-time commitment,managing a team of paid staff and volunteers within a multi-faceted business.This would include working in collaboration with the senior management andstakeholders to maximize occupancy, revenue and oversee strategic operations.
Theapplicant must demonstrate superior knowledge of front of house softwaresystems and an in-depth understanding of the hospitality market trends withinAustralia and beyond. As the business expands – with plans in the pipeline to increaseour capacity - it will position itself as the prime location for backpackersand budget-conscious domestic and international tourists alike. The incomingAccommodation Manager will enjoy a high degree of autonomy, with an open-mindedand supportive approach provided by senior management and the owner of thebusiness.
Dutiesinclude:
- Rostering for all front of house accommodation and volunteer staff
- Weekly revenue and profit loss accounts
- Conflict resolution
- Setting of key incentive programs to motive staff and maximize efficiency
- All staff recruitment within the department
- Software integration and training
- Coordinating social media campaigns and increasing online visibility
- Liaising with the general manager, owner and other stakeholders to maximize communications budgetary controls and forecasting
- Updating back-end POS systems and maintaining all processes
- Being the “face” of the accommodation department, to ensure optimal customer service levels are adhered to
- Train and develop staff on a continual basis with the aim of working toward a self-sufficient team
