We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time Accountant to join our team. This role will be working from home, so an appropriate home based work environment is required. This is a great opportunity for a parent looking to get back into the workforce with flexible days and hours.
Job Description:
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of BAS, payroll tax, Workcover, FBT, and other related reporting
- General ledger maintenance reconciliations
- Month-end/Year-end balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company journal entries
- Payroll processing, including setting up payment for superannuation.
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Recognising discrepancies and inconsistencies and proactively solving them
- Responding to supplier emails and related accounts queries
- Performing day-to-day finance operations
- Assisting with general financial and business administration
- Maintaining registers of staff and client contracts
- Direct liaison with external accountant
- Other reasonable ah-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications:
- CA or CPA
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity
- Proficient in Xero and MS Office Suite specifically Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Effective communication skills
- Experience with time sheeting, labour hire and the successful billing of project based work is desirable
