We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and budget management.
Reporting to the General Manager, the role requires a self-driven and motivated person that can manage a small but busy office environment, that prides itself on its customer care, professionalism and timely delivery of its functions.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar related field
- Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Initiative, self-reliance and the ability to work independently.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial statements, including project-based statements for ongoing construction projects
- Participate in the formulation and planning of the company's annual and monthly budgets
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal policies
- Financial requirements of the day-to-day obligations of the business
- Managing financial transactions and reconciliation ensuring accurate posting and classification of business transactions
- Asset Management
- Monthly report preparation for the Board including job reporting via ‘Fergus’ job management software
- Coordinate new employee setup, including workstations, technology, systems access as well as HR paperwork, setting up inductions etc.
