Our business is looking for an Accountant who will look after the accounting and finance functions for the business and will be responsible for ensuring robust internal controls and continuous improvement of policies and procedures.
Location: Huntingwood, NSW, 2148
Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
Role: Full-time
Key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing and reviewing financial statements including monthly reporting and P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
2. Budgeting, cash flow analysis, and accounting systems management.
3. Creating, maintaining, and updating chart of accounts and ensuring compliance with ATO obligations
4. Performing financial investigations, generating reports, and advising on issues such as new supplier implementation, product ranges, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation
5. Training employees in order to maintain internal control systems.
6. Ensuring all payment obligations, such as tax implications, PAYG, and superannuation, are paid on a timely basis.
7. Reconciling any financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing financial information
8. Liaising with external accountants for finalisation of financial statements and tax implications
9. Advising the management on improvement of financial operations and investment plans as and when required
10. Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Requirements:
· At least a bachelor’s qualification in Accounting or Finance
· Minimum of 2-3 years practical local experience as an Accountant
· Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting standards and key concepts
· Knowledge of Accounting Software such as Xero/MYOB
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Analytical mindset
