Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and contributing to the preparation of month-end and year-end financial management reports
- Implementing business transformation such as process improvement and systems enhancements
- Analysing financial and management accounting information
- Providing advice on adequate internal controls and financial policies
- Coordinating and communicating with external parties such at financial institutions, compliance, and audit professionals where required
- Mentoring and supporting our team, or the client's team, in managing the finance function and building capacity (skills development)
- Ensure financial management reports are supported by appropriate internal controls, reconciliation of ledgers as required
- Oversee the preparation of audit friendly financial records
- Prepare budgets, assess internal controls and relevant systems to manage costs, revenues and cash flows for client’s
- Oversee payroll activities and ensure timeliness and accuracy
- Communicate financial and management reports to Senior management and the Board
- Provide first level helpdesk for Employment Hero Payroll.

Qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or related discipline
- CA/CPA qualified
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience
Desirable:
- Xero experience.
- Employment Hero (KeyPay) experience.

Location Note:
Our base is in Newcastle; however, we offer a work-from-home option. Team meetings and professional development sessions are held in person once a quarter in Newcastle, requiring occasional travel. You will be responsible for the time and cost associated with attending Newcastle events.
