AddressCS GAS is a specialist supplier of mining and gas field equipment and services. Our organisation has a multidiscipline engineering focus with operations that include mechanical assembly, electrical, instrumentation and industrial control systems.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our team. As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for our company. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement processes.
Responsibilities will include
- Assisting in the sourcing and evaluating of suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records
- Monitoring inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely supply of goods
- Resolving any issues or disputes with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, or pricing
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
Requirements
Applicants who possess the following will be considered
- 2 years minimum in a similar role
- Electrical &/or mechanical based background
- Manufacturing/Gas & Mining experience
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software
- Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and undertake work activities in a methodical and efficient manner
- Able to communicate and share information both in written and verbal form to all internal customers/stakeholders and external suppliers
- Forklift license valued
