WellPro is a privately owned Australian company servicing the energy, resource and mining sectors. Due to a restructure of the Accounts team, we now seek the skills of an experienced and highly competent Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the Accounting function, fortnightly payroll and providing accurate financial data and reports to the Managing Director and other stakeholders as required. The position is a key leadership role and will include providing advice, training and guidance to other team members as necessary. This is a role that requires thorough understanding of responsibilities and governance through proven experience in a similarly held position. The primary purpose is to provide accurate financial reporting and advice to the Directors and across all projects and operations. The ideal candidate we are looking for is professionally agile and is ready to hit the ground running in a hands on, team orientated management role.
Qualifications & experience
- Proven experience working as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, MYOB
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Experience processing payroll using MYOB or equivalent
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Tasks & responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts department including: month end process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, debt activity
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements (budgets, forecasts)
- Ensure proper accounting methods, policies and procedures are followed
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain financial files and records to document transactions
- Management and analysis of job costings and profitability
- Complete Tax and associated regulatory compliance requirements (BAS, payroll, Super)
- Process fortnightly payroll in MYOB Account Right
