Risk & Security Management are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Finance Officer to join our finance team of 4. This role will be to assist managing the company’s finance operations processes
The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The role
Based in Brisbane CBD utilising Xero, Netsuite and our internal database the duties are varied relating to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, receipting and reconciling.
This role will have interactions with many stakeholders and offers autonomy in your duties whilst being in a fast paced, supportive environment.
Duties & tasks:
- Processing accounts payable payments in an accurate and timely manner;
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of records;
- Work closely with clients resolving any queries;
- Maintain accounts receivable in line with company expectation;
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations;
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounts receivable processes
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts;
- Work closely with external suppliers and resolving any queries;
- Assist with trust account reconciliation;
- Process fortnightly payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and taxes;
- Provide assistance and guidance for lesser experienced staff; and
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Company.
Skills & experience:
- Experience using Netsuite (desired)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related role (required)
- Microsoft Office experience – specifically Excel
- Tertiary qualification
- Experienced with Xero
- Experience with Trust Account transactions highly desirable
- Ability to deal with clients & third parties professionally and with sensitivity
- Thorough, accurate and strong attention to detail skills
- Outstanding client service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Time management, organisational & multitasking skills
- Professional, positive, and ethical attitude
- Willing to undergo police check
