Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is to maintain our Government clients Section 7.11 Developer Contributions registers and provide assistance to customers and internal staff relating to Section 7.11 calculations. The position also contributes to corporate reporting improvements and provides broader assistance to the management accounting team in relation to the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Section 7.11 Calculations & Reporting
- Calculation and indexation of Section 7.11 contributions, update contributions register to record payment against Development Applications, monthly reconciliation, Prepare Monthly Developer Contributions Management.
- Assist in the preparation of clients Financial Statements by providing information relating to Section 7.11 Contributions & funding.
- Provide timely and accurate financial advice to the Senior Management Team and senior staff, Assist with Quarterly Budget Reviews with a specific focus on Section 7.11 revenue.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.
- Assist the Senior Management Accountant with the establishment, monitoring and updating of a specific Developer Contributions Long Term Financial Plan, which incorporates funding models for non-essential infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation, accounting codes and standards, policies and procedures that relate to the functions and activities performed by the position,
- Other relevant duties which may be required by the Senior Management Accountant
Key Challenges:
- Undertaking accurate and consistent work within a high volume and changing environment
- In complex and urgent situations apply standard practice and policy to provide a responsive and timely service that meets the immediate and ongoing needs of the represented person. It may be necessary to work with key stakeholders, including other delegated guardianship staff to support the decision-making process.
- Work collaboratively and respond to customers and stakeholders in a responsible and empathetic manner on a range of issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications (or commenced) in an accounting / finance related discipline,
- Extensive knowledge and experience in applying accounting policies and procedures,
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills (including reconciliation skills)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal),
- Expert knowledge and application of Microsoft Office products (particularly financial spreadsheets),
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment,
- Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
