The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a driven individual to join our Accounting Department on a 16 month fixed-term contract. Located in Scoresby, the Accounting Officer, equipped with the essential accounting and analytical skills, will execute duties in a manner that fosters teamwork, promotes collaboration within the Accounting team and contributes to the company’s growth in various facets.This position will have responsibilities both directly or/and as a member in a group, as assigned from time to time. The position will work closely with the Accounting Team to ensure highest quality financial risk management, documentation compliance, while adopting an excellent customer service focused approach.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the insurances, bank guarantees, leases, document archiving, checking documents for accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Documenting the Accounting Department processes in a concise way and mapping the processes.
- Coordinating the flow of business-related documentation throughout the organisation, including commercially sensitive or confidential documents, providing access to documents upon request, assist in creating systems to manage company documents.
- Work with relevant groups and auditors to maintain ISO 9001 status. Short interstate trips may be required as part of planning, team development and activities.
- Conduct Accounting Department process checks to ensure documents are being followed.
- Assist in the development of procedures for standardisation.
- Accounting tasks, corporate card/ expenses processing, various project work relating to accounting, training programs and ISO 9001 projects.
- Learns new processes and technologies to take up substitute roles within the Accounting team leading to the expansion of the role, and to remain agile and innovative.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the Accounting Officer.
About You

Essential:
- Accounting related Degree or related Postgraduate Studies.
- Experience in Excel spreadsheets and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical skills with high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
