And in doing so, they grow their diverse talents while building something to be proud of.As the Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll support the smooth and efficient processing of Transurban’s fortnightly and monthly payrolls.This is a permanent ongoing opportunity.Day-to-day, you will:
- You’ll support the payroll delivery, which includes but isn’t limited to:
- completing monthly and fortnightly payrolls, which includes all data entry, payroll processing and end of period reporting,
- process online leave applications, change requests, superannuation, workcover and salary packaging items,
- ensure all payroll systems are up to date, payroll adjustments are appropriately authorised and recorded,
- complete month end and year end close processes,
- analyse and check all payroll information is accurate.
- Be across new legislation and ensure payroll is processed as required.
- Ensure controls are in place and are completed to reduce and/or minimise risk.
- Respond to queries and requests for information in a timely manner, including investigating further into complaints or issues regarding pays.
- Ensure internal processes are captured for all aspects of payroll and are easily accessible.
- Robust knowledge and experience of payroll operations. You’ll be experienced in end to end payroll processes within medium to large sized organisations.
- You’ll possess a broad understanding of payroll functions, procedures and processes.
- Any experience with iChris/Chris21 is preferable, otherwise any payroll systems knowledge and experience.
- Exposure with a HRIS.
- You have the ability and are comfortable to deal sensitively with payroll issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Positive and inquisitive attitude with the ability to take direction and be proactive, responsible and accountable.
- You possess well-rounded interpersonal and communication skills to be able to provide a high level of service to employees and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work towards strict time frames.
- You’re comfortable working in an ambiguous and changing environment
- You’re a team player who can work collaboratively in a team but also autonomously as needed.
- Ability to interpret and apply provision of relevant legislation, awards, certified agreements and company policies.
