We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accounts Administrator to join our North Sydney team on a part time basis, working 20 hours a week on a fixed term period for 7 months until January 2025 with the possibility to extend or make it permanent part time or full time in the future.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Accounts Administrator is responsible for managing various financial tasks and will have impeccable attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
MAIN DUTIES
• Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner.
• Data entry of invoices into Approval Portal and Accounting system.
• Data verification from the Invoice Approval portal.
• Assist with a backlog of Accounts Payable invoices.
• Conduct regular and accurate financial data entries into the accounting system.
• Coordinate and liaise with project administrators and project managers regarding Accounts Payable.
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
• Liaise with other departments to understand their financial requirements and provide necessary information.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on financial processes and compliance requirements.
• Assist with ad hoc requirements and general administrative duties.
OTHER DUTIES
Fulfil other duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Proven 1 year experience as an Accounts Administrator or in a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in using accounting software and other relevant tools (e.g., spreadsheets, Microsoft Office Suite).
• General administration skills (i.e.: meeting minutes, answering phone calls, document production)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while working with large amounts of data.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
