A unique opportunity exists to join our Naturally Elevated Ecosystem as our Accounts Assistant. We are searching for a highly organised, detail oriented and fast paced Accounts Assistant to support the Financial Controller through an exciting period of growth. We are in the process of expanding and creating new business entities so it's a great opportunity for the successful candidate to hit the ground running and contribute to growth.
As the Accounts Assistant, you will undertake various accounting duties as outlined below using Xero accounting software, as well as some administration duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Financial Controller with general tasks including account reconciliations, report preparation, journals, and EOM tasks
- Processing day to day invoicing and billing transactions in Xero ensuring all are correctly recorded, processed and paid on or before the due date
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Maintaining asset registers and calculating depreciation for month end
- Preparing purchase orders in Xero
- Payroll processing
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Assist with the review of operational performance and variance analysis
- General office administration requirements (ordering office supplies, booking travel, etc.)
- Other duties as required
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in the use of Xero and Microsoft Excel
- A strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Effective organisational & time management skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams
