About the Project - The Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC) contract is a partnership between The Palladium Group and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The HLC programme itself supports the Australian Government's international disaster relief efforts through the provision of logistical support, disaster relief procurement, and timely technical advice. The HLC team achieves these outcomes through the provision of high quality, multifaceted, flexible, and responsive humanitarian supply chain solutions.
About the role - The Accounts Assistant will support the management of HLC finances and financial accountability across the project. The role reports to the Finance Coordinator and is based in Pinkenba, until 30th June 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that financial documents are correct and reconciled with financial transactions.
Ensure appropriate cost coding and data entry in line with the chart of accounts,
Verify that invoices and payments are supported by the appropriate supporting documents and authorisations.
Ensuring all payments made are compliant with policies and legislation.
Reconcile Corporate Credit Cards
Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly transactions are completed in a timely manner for effective reporting.
Update financial monitoring sheets.
Ensure that all financial trackers are accurately updated and are reported to the relevant managers.
Support in the development and monitoring of budgets.
Support in the development of monthly and annual financial reports and other reports as directed.
Assist in the annual review/creation of the HLC Finance Manual and ensure that all the revisions are communicated and implemented across the facility.
Assist in external and internal audits as required and undertake periodic internal process and policy compliance audits.
About You
Tertiary Accounting qualifications, preferred , or relevant equivalent working history
Extensive experience in financial administration supporting large project financial management, preferably for international development donors or organisations
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly excel required
Costpoint knowledge preferred
Good command of verbal and written English
A police clearance certificate, or ability to obtain one.
