We are currently seeking a Full time Finance Officer/Assistant Accountant for the Brothers (Cairns) Group, reporting to Group Finance Manager. The Group operates two licensed venues and Rugby League Football club. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bookkeeping/accounting with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. This role offers excellent work flexibility, opportunities for training, and career advancement.
Key responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily general trade banking for Fuller Sports and Brothers Rugby League Clubs and prepare revenue journals.
- Record daily banking transactions, reconcile all bank accounts for the Brothers Group maintaining the integrity of general ledger
- Assist Group Finance Manager with month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Full responsibility for bookkeeping ( A/R, A/P) and month-end close for Rugby League Football operations
- Process weekly payment runs and staff reimbursements
- Assist Group Finance Manager with BAS preparation and Fixed Asset registers
- Assist with annual audit and preparation of audit documentation
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on different matters
- Other Admin and Finance related duties
Key requirements:
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Accounting, or minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance related roles
- Experience with bookkeeping, A/R, A/P and bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills and MYOB.
- Good understanding of Australian accounting principles and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
